Herman K. Landis

Herman K. Landis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, at the age of 92. He most recently resided at The Willows and had previously made his home in Telford and Harleysville.

Born in Earlington on September 21, 1933, Herman was the son of the late Abram M. and Thelma (Knauer) Landis.

Herman shared 70 wonderful years of marriage with his high school sweetheart, the late Barbara (Keyser) Landis. Together, they built a loving family and shared a lifetime of memories.

Herman graduated from Souderton Area High School and spent his working years in a variety of occupations. He retreaded tires at Bergey’s, drove trucks for Indian Valley Bulk and Franconia Propane. He also enjoyed driving school buses for Hagey’s Bus Company. For much of his career, however, Herman was proud to work alongside his father and brothers at the family business, Earl Bowl Lanes, where he spent many memorable years.

Outside of work, Herman enjoyed bowling and especially square dancing with Barbara. Also treasured time spent with family.

He will be deeply missed by his children, Bruce (Judi), Barbara (Stan), and Dale (Donna); his grandchildren, Rachelle (Andrew), Jennifer (Rob), Jessica, Andrew, Jonathan (Jessica), Brandon (Emily), and Jason (Heather); and his great-grandchildren, Braeden, Robbie, Rowan, Claire, Chad, Max, and Peyton. He is also survived by his brother, Larry (Connie), and sisters-in-law Betty Landis and Mary Jane Landis.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Barbara, Herman was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra; his sister, Nancy; and his brothers, Abram and Othneil.

Services will be held privately by the family.
