Obituary

Harry L. Thompson, 92, of Souderton, PA, formerly of Salford Township, PA, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022. He and his wife, Carole M. (Cardell) Thompson, would have celebrated their 69 th wedding anniversary on August 8 th of this year.

Born October 21 st , 1929, in Abington, PA, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Mary B. (Scudder) Thompson. He was raised in Glenside, PA, attended Cheltenham High School. and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Thompson was employed for over 40 years with CALECO of West Chester, PA. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Souderton, PA, and was a former member of Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek in Telford, PA. He enjoyed roller skating in his younger days and was an accomplished pianist. He liked keeping busy working with his hands on projects around the house and was a World War II history buff. Genealogy was another interest, and he wrote a book on his family history which was copyrighted in 1999.  From early childhood, Harry enjoyed vacationing regularly at his family's lakefront cabin in the Northern Adirondacks.  There he enjoyed boating, waterskiing, sailing, and all the activities the lake had to offer.  But mostly, he enjoyed the quality time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Cheri L. Croll and her husband, Donald, of Telford, PA, and Carole Ann Vogel and her husband, Bruce, of Telford, PA; a son, Brent Thompson and his wife, Sandy, of Franconia, PA; and a brother, Robert Thompson of Thaxton, VA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Mandy Mohline and her husband, John, and their children Paul and Hannah; David Croll; Douglas Vogel and his wife, Emily; Daniel Vogel and his wife, Jackie, and their children Jackson and Riley; and Daiana, Abigail and Andrew Thompson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11am on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford (Franconia Twp.), PA, where family will receive friends from 10-10:45am. Masks are suggested by the family. Burial will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
