GLORIA MAY JACOBS of Harleysville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Gloria was born in Philadelphia and was the daughter of the late H. Paul and Elizabeth Hockman. She was a graduate of Frankford High School. As the years unfolded, she worked in various companies as a bookkeeper, and account manager while being an incredibly devoted single parent raising three children. She managed a challenging life with a constant smile, endless energy and undying faith.
In the last eight years, she was a well-cared for and loved resident of the Peter Becker Community.
Gloria was extremely devoted to various churches throughout all the years of her life. She especially treasured her time as a Sunday school teacher for many years. That special time allowed her to share her faith with so many beautiful young precious faces! She felt honored to be able to share her love of Jesus and her faith with them. Her undying commitment to her faith was prevalent in all her actions, compassion for others and generosity. Gloria was a loving, generous and caring woman. She loved the simple things in life, especially spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and devoted family.
She was the loving mother to her children, Donna Brun of Maple Glen, Richard Jacobs (Paula) of Benton, Pa. and Michael Jacobs (Leslie) of Harleysville. She was the sister of the late Grace Jacobs and recently her deceased brother James Hockman (Helen).
Gloria was the proud "Grams" to nine wonderful grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren with the twenty-first arriving in June.
There was nothing that brought her more joy than being with her grand or great grand "Kiddos". She nurtured and cared for each of them any chance she had and provided them with endless joy! As her grandchildren have become adults, they have all carried on her goodness, her steadfast faith, and kindness as they made their own paths in life.
Her twenty great grandchildren ranging in age from one month to twenty-one years will always know of her beautiful spirit. We have no doubt that she will always be watching over them and only a prayer away for all of those in the family she leaves behind. She will be greatly missed by her family and always remembered in their hearts. Gloria touched the lives of all those around her. Her energetic spirit was an inspiration and her beautiful, contagious smile unforgettable!
