Obituary

Gladys Moore (Delp) Crouthamel, age 86, of Lansdale, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the Rev. Dr. Dale H. Crouthamel, with whom she shared over 63 years of marriage.

Born March 9, 1937, in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Elizabeth (Moore) Delp. Gladys's desire to serve the Lord and others started at an early age. She volunteered for mission work in New Hampshire and Appalachia before attending the Philadelphia College of the Bible. She worked alongside Dale as a committed pastor's wife at Covenant Chapel in Basking Ridge, NJ and Emmanuel Four Brooks in Pipersville, PA. She will long be remembered for how she opened her home for bible studies and fellowship, establishing lifelong friendships with the women of the church. She also had the gift of working with children, offering daycare services in her home in NJ and later working in preschool programs in PA.

Gladys was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She demonstrated everyday how to love unconditionally and live life as a woman of steadfast faith. She was also a loving sister to five brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She loved cooking meals for family gatherings, which often included her playing the organ for a hymn sing.

While she will be remembered by many for her love and compassion towards others, her greatest legacy was how she lived her life in service and for the glory of her savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to her husband, Dale, Gladys is survived by her children, Katherine Forte and her husband, John, of Atlanta, GA, and Jonathan Crouthamel and his wife, Michelle, of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Jake, Ben, Sophie and Will Forte and Sarah Crouthamel; and brothers, Robert, William, Willard, and Timothy Delp. She was preceded in death by brother Kenneth Delp.

A memorial service for Gladys will take place at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at St. Paul's Reformed Episcopal Church, 800 Church Road, Oreland, PA. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gladys' name may be made to the Theological Seminary of the Reformed Episcopal Church, 826 2nd Avenue, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
