Gerald R. Kaczor, 82, of Souderton, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, after a brief illness.  He was the husband of Valetta Kaczor, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in O'Neill, NE, he was the son of the late Edward and Margretha (Nelson) Kaczor.  Gerald served in the United States Army from 1959-1962.

He was an ordained minister, graduating from Grace Bible College.  He and his wife Valetta were Mennonite missionaries in Brazil for 53 years, where they served in community outreach programs, supported the local Presbyterian Church and raised 4 children. He also volunteered as a chaplain in the local hospital, provided leadership for the neighborhood association and for an addiction family support group.

Gerald was a true "handyman" and was able to fix anything, from electrical work to plumbing.  His hobbies included gardening, raising chickens and rabbits and fishing.  He was an avid reader and kept up the news locally and abroad. Gerald was proud to have written a memoir in both English and Portuguese, published with the title Through the Valley with the Good Shepherd: Divine Intervention.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Dawn Kaczor (Steven Lantz), Brian Kaczor (Brooke), Carla Kaczor (William Santos) and Allen Kaczor (Suzanne Landis Kaczor).  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Elsa, Seth Elias, Nathan, Kaleb, Zöe, Tola, Naomi and Nayla.
