Dr. George H. Gaugler, Jr., 92, of Harleysville, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.  He was husband of Rhoda Gaugler, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.

He was born April 24, 1930, in Port Trevorton, PA, the son of the late George and Marie Gaugler.  George was a 1946 graduate of Selinsgrove High School, 1950 graduate of Juniata College and 1958 graduate of Temple University Dental School.

He served at Fort Sam Huston in San Antonio, TX in the United States Army from 1951-1953.

George was a self-employed dentist in Souderton for 54 years.

He was an avid gardener, growing 100s of Rhododendrons and Azaleas.   George also enjoyed coin collecting, repairing china, collecting antiques and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, George H. Gaugler, III and his wife, Nancy, Dale Gaugler and his wife, Donna, and Tim Gaugler and his wife, Denise; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Elbert Gaugler and a sister Sara Tyson.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, March 12, at the Peter Becker Community Chapel, 800 Maple Ave., Harleysville, 19438, where the family will receive friends during the luncheon immediately following the service.
