George Donald Buchanan, age 88, of Harleysville, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Marion (Beaton) Buchanan, with whom he shared over 66 years of marriage.

Born April 5, 1934, in Cambridge Massachusetts, he was a son of the late George Daniel and Lucy (Ward) Buchanan.

In addition to his wife Margaret, he is survived by his children, Gail Klumpp and her husband, Dennis, of Schwenksville, Gary Buchanan and his wife, Colleen, of San Luis Obispo, CA, and Gilbert Buchanan and his wife, Christine, of West Berlin NJ; and grandsons, Matthew Buchanan of Collingswood, NJ and Tyler Buchanan of Manayunk, PA.

A memorial service for George will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Peter Backer Community Chapel, 800 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, where a reception will follow services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in George's name may be made the Peter Becker Benevolent Fund, 800 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, PA 19438.
