Elizabeth Gale Leigeber, 69, a resident of Harleysville, PA, since 2004, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. She and her husband, John C. "Jay" Leigeber, observed their 47th wedding anniversary on July 6th of this year. They had both been raised in Michigan City IN and formerly lived in Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL, and Cincinnati, OH.

Born November 29, 1952, in Munster, IN, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Summers, Jr. and Elsa (Backlund) Summers. She was a graduate of Elson Senior High School in Michigan City, IN, and earned her bachelor's degree and master's degree in Spanish from Indiana University. She later received her master's degrees in both Food Science & Nutrition from Mississippi State University.

Mrs. Leigeber was a certified nutritionist and homeopath. She was an active member and officer of the local chapters of Ladies' Oriental Shrine, Daughters of the Nile, Order of the Amaranth, and Order of the Eastern Star. She was an independent and active person who enjoyed helping others. She was also dedicated to the study of her family's heritage, tracking back her roots for over 600 years!

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three siblings, Ernest Summers, III of Long Beach, IN, Edna Moody of Newton, MA, and Edward Summers of Glendale AZ.  She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Donald Leigeber, of Carbondale, IL.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11am on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford (Franconia Twp.), PA, where friends may call for her viewing from 10-11am.
