Florence S. Woloski "Floss", a resident of Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, after a short illness at the age of 93. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Woloski, with whom she shared over 61 years of marriage.
Born July 4, 1930, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Stanley Aiken and Myrtle Estelle (Kaiser) Shepherd.
Floss was a member of the Lansdale Presbyterian Church where she attended with her family since 1964. She was the head of the kitchen committee for many years and oversaw the publication of two church cookbooks. In addition, Floss served as the chair of their seniors' group for several years and loved attending weekly Bible studies.
Cooking and baking, collecting cookbooks, and selecting new recipes to try brought her great enjoyment. She loved to entertain and host dinner parties in her home, something she missed doing in her later years of life. But her greatest passion was her family, and she cherished the times they spent together, especially vacationing at Harvey's Lake and Stone Harbor.
For many years Floss worked as a switchboard operator, both at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and later at Merk. She was also a hostess at the Kaleidoscope Dinner Theatre in Lansdale where she made several life-long friends.
Floss is survived by her three daughters Shepherd Sands, Lori Davis and her husband Richard, Jill East and her husband Daniel; grandchildren Joy Phillips and her husband Phil, Rachael Curtin, Emily Vasquez and her husband Edgar, Dylan East, Madison Cook, Kaitlyn and Alyssa Phillips, Austin Curtin, and Liliana and Emma Vasquez. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters.
