Faye Bolton, age 88, of Souderton, PA, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025. She was the cherished wife of the late Charles L. Bolton, with whom she shared more than 62 years of marriage.
Born in Harleysville to the late Abraham Alderfer and Clara Mae (Kulp) Ruth, Faye grew up with a strong sense of community, creativity, and faith—qualities that defined her throughout her life.
Faye had a gift for making people feel welcome. Her passions were many—gardening, cooking, decorating, and traveling—but her greatest love was connecting with people. After raising their three children, she and Charles opened their home to MCC trainees from across the globe, forming deep bonds that spanned continents and generations.
Faye was a faithful and active member of Line Lexington Mennonite Church, where she could be found every Sunday morning, greeting other members with a smile. She was involved in many things, but her favorite thing was helping to decorate the church. She also spent many joyful years working at the family business, Bolton's Farm Market, where she brightened customers' days with service and easy conversation.
In her retirement years, Faye was a volunteer at Care and Share Thrift Shoppes. Her family especially loved the quirky and humorous gifts she'd find there to surprise her grandchildren—each one a reflection of her sense of humor.
She had many hobbies in her lifetime, but her biggest passions were her gardens and spending time with her family. She made sure her children and grandchildren got together often and she will be greatly missed by all of them.
She is survived by her children: Torrie Bolton Christy and husband, Scott of Silverdale PA, Todd Bolton and wife, Lori of Souderton PA, and Trinda Bolton Brenneman and husband, Todd of Portland OR; her grandchildren: Taryn Christy, Kelby Bolton Buckwalter (Ryan), Grant Christy, Megan Shipe (Anthony), Jill Bergey (Lincoln), Nolan Bolton, and Vivian Brenneman; and her great-grandchildren: Connor, Rory, Barrett, Wyatt, Rylee, and Sadie. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Ruth of Holmes Beach FL. In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Ruth.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Line Lexington Mennonite Church, 80 Hilltown Pike, Line Lexington, PA 18932. Following the service, friends and family are invited to greet the family and stay for a time of fellowship and light refreshments. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
