Evelyn N. Godshall, 88, of Souderton, died April 17, 2022, peacefully of natural causes. Born May 12, 1933, in Harleysville Pa., she was the oldest daughter of Harlan and Marie Nice. She was an active member of the Souderton community through her work as a realtor and years of volunteering at the Care & Share Thrift Shop and Ten Thousand Villages.
Evelyn was often heard telling her family and friends the simple motto, "Drink in the beauty," whether she was admiring the flowers on her patio, appreciating the gentle breeze from the Chesapeake Bay, or taking in the Vermont mountains with her grandchildren by whom she is better known as "Nannan". She was an avid tennis player and excellent baker, known for her peanut butter blossoms and sugar cookies at Christmas and black walnut cake and cupcakes on birthdays. Evelyn never forgot the beauty that is life, and she serves as a reminder to us all to appreciate each other and all that is wonderful about this earth.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard M. Godshall. She is survived by her children, Sandy Gerletz and her husband Jerry, Dennis Godshall and his wife, Tracy, and Laurie Hanley and her husband, Brian; her grandchildren, Lucy, Jake, Anna, and Jack; and her three siblings: Lorraine Landes, Stanley Nice, and Jeanette Hackman. A private celebration of life for Evie will be held on May 21st.
