Elwood "Woody" Thomas, Jr., 88, of Souderton, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023.  He was the husband of Rose Marie Thomas, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in West Point, he was the son of the late Elwood and Alice Thomas.

He was a graduate of Lansdale High School, class of 1953.  Elwood served in the United States Army from 1957-1959.  He had worked for Bell Telephone, Bell Atlantic and Verizon as a lineman and construction supervisor.

Woody enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, the Philadelphia Orchestra and baseball.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Barbara and husband John Anthony, David Thomas, Mark and wife Kim Thomas, and Karen Ruble; grandchildren, Kristen and husband Nate Kontra, John Anthony, Thomas Anthony, Kathryn Thomas, Zachary Thomas, Nina Ruble, Will Ruble, Maggie Ruble and Luke Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Eliana Kontra and Nate Kontra, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 8, at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, 19446, where the family will receive friends from 9:30-10:15 AM.  Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery.
