Elizabeth K. "Betty" Hespell, 92, of Telford, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024, at the Lutheran Community at Telford, where she had been a resident since 2015. She was the wife of the late Elmer "Pete" Hespell, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.

Born in Lansdale, Betty was the daughter of the late Maurice and Kathryn (Howe) Zeigler.  Betty was a graduate of Lansdale High School in 1949, where she played field hockey and was also part of the cheerleading squad. It is also where she would meet Pete, the love of her life.

In her early teen years Betty, along with her siblings, assisted her father as he established his cider business, which would grow to be known as "Zeigler's Apple Cider", of which Betty was very proud.

Betty thrived as a homemaker, taking care of her growing family for decades; yet cherished equally, in her later years, her service as a nurse's aide at both the Community at Rockhill and Dock Terrace, a job she very much enjoyed.

Betty was a member of Immanuel Church of the Nazarene in Lansdale, where she served in various aspects throughout the years.  She had a beautiful alto voice and sang in the church choir.

Betty and Pete spent much of their retirement days at their home in the Poconos where they hosted and entertained many groups of friends.  Many fond memories were made during this time.  Betty's spunk and sense of humor followed her well into her later years.

Betty is survived by her children, Donald (fiancée Dianne), Douglas (Lorraine), David (Patti), Doreen Slotter (Dave), and Duane (Becky), 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and sister Lorraine Gery. In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Grace (Zeigler) Freed, Paul Zeigler, Ken Zeigler, and Joan (Zeigler) Roberts, and a daughter-in-law Sonia (Ward) Hespell.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:00pm on Sunday June 23rd, 2024, at Immanuel Church, 1260 Welsh Road, Lansdale, PA followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm. Interment will be private.
