Edward J. Swartz, 88, of Harleysville, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Wentz) Swartz to whom he was married for over 53 years.

Born February 8, 1935, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Brown) Swartz. Mr. Swartz was a graduate of Girard College class of 1952 and served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Swartz continued his education earning his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Temple University in 1960, and his Master's in Finance in 1969. Mr. Swartz was employed with PNC Bank and retired in 1988 as Vice President. After a short retirement, he worked for the Bethlehem Steel Trust and then the Wilmington Trust. Mr. Swartz was a Chartered Financial Analyst and was past secretary of the Financial Analysts of Philadelphia, and a past president and member of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Securities Association. Mr. Swartz was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening at his home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother Joseph J. Swartz, Jr., and his wife, Carolyn, and many nieces and nephews.
