It is with great sadness that the family of Doris H. Brown of Souderton, PA announces her passing on August 25, 2025.
Born January 14, 1940, to the late Charles and Martha (Seydow) Hazlett, she grew up in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia on Michener Ave near Phil-Ellena St and graduated from Germantown High School, class of 1957.
She married Noel 'Bif' Brown in March 1959 and spent the next 12 years raising their two children, daughter Susan and son Douglas.
Over the next 27 years and while residing in Horsham, PA, she found gainful employment where, to name a few, she worked as a dental receptionist, restaurant manager, and finally, as an administrative secretary for a pharmaceutical company.
In early 1998 and having decided to retire, she and Bif began the next phase of their lives together as they retired to St. Augustine, FL. It was here that they enjoyed year-round warm weather, meeting new groups of friends, and traveling when it suited them. Sadly, her husband of 53 years passed away in 2012, and a few years later, she returned to Pennsylvania to be with family.
Doris was predeceased in death by her older sister, Lorraine (Stewart). She is survived by her daughter, Susan Brown of Telford, PA, son Douglas, and daughter-in-law Monika (Wilhelm) Brown of Souderton, PA, granddaughter Alyssa Minnick (George) of Malvern, PA, and grandson Zachary Brown of Philadelphia, PA as well as great-granddaughter and great-grandson Audrey and Owen Minnick.
Doris will be remembered by all of those who knew her as fun, loving, caring, respectful, reliable, organized, hardworking, and an excellent provider. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
A graveside service for Doris will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, August 28, at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, 19002.
