Donna (Derstine) Moyer, 77, a resident of Red Hill, PA, for the last 11 years, passed away Saturday morning, January 14, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital Upper Bucks Campus. She and her husband, Donald A. Moyer, celebrated their 57 th wedding anniversary on October 2 nd of last year. They were former residents of Harleysville, PA for over 40 years.
Born February 21, 1945, in Telford, PA, she was a daughter of the late Arthur N. and Velma (Hagey) Derstine. She was a 1963 graduate of Souderton High School where she was a member of the color guard. She had been employed at several local businesses including Harleysville Insurance, the cafeteria at Lower Salford Elementary School, Merrymead Farm, Snyder Square, Baby Depot, and Landis Supermarket of Vernfield, PA.
Mrs. Moyer was a member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church where she was a Girls Club leader and volunteered in the church's library. She was a member of the Montgomery County 4-H Center and took part in league bowling at Earl Bowl Lanes in Earlington, PA. Her favorite past-times were gardening, reading, baking, swimming, bowling, crafts, family ancestry, antiques, photography, crossword puzzles, card games, country music, picnics, reunions, sewing, her cats, the Philadelphia Phillies, beach vacations, and weekends at Lake Wallenpaupack. She loved roses and orchids.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Weidemoyer of Telford, PA; a son, Ryan Moyer and his wife, Abby, of Telford, PA; and a sister, Sandra Erb of New Holland, PA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Arianna Weidemoyer, and Adeline and Ethan Moyer. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Moyer; and two brothers-in-law, David Erb and Ray Moyer.
A public memorial will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the Souderton Mennonite Homes Chapel, 207 W. Summit St., Souderton, PA , where family will receive friends from 9-9:45 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia at www.chop.edu or to a 4-H Center of the donor's choice. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc. of Franconia, PA. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.WilliamsBergeyKoffel.com .
