Donald "Don" E. Heller, age 98, of Harleysville, PA, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Irma (Schuetz) Heller, with whom he shared over 52 years of marriage.

Don was born on March 13, 1925, in Mount Carmel, PA. He was the son of the late William and Mary (Kocher) Heller.

Donald enlisted in the Navy after graduating from Frackville High School. During World War II, He served in the Pacific on the USS Pittsburgh as a Radar Second Class. After World War II, he moved to Philadelphia and worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad. While living in Philadelphia, he met and married his wife, Irma, before moving to Connecticut to work on submarine design for General Dynamics, Electric Boat. He worked for Electric Boat for 26 years while raising his family. After retiring from Electric Boat in 1983, Irma and Don traveled across the United States in their GMC motorhome. He was proud to have visited all 50 states and much of Canada. Don had many skills that included carpentry, electrical work, and auto-mechanics. He enjoyed golf, reading, rose gardening, and playing bridge. As a calligrapher, he wrote many treasured birthday cards and letters to his family. He was a 70-year member of F&A.M. Pulaski Lodge #216, Pottsville.

Don is survived by his sons Scott and Keith Heller, his daughter Donna Glass and her husband Thomas; two granddaughters Julie and Katharine Glass.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings June Behrens and William Heller.

The family is holding his burial with military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Generations of Indian Valley, 259 North Second Street, Souderton, PA 18964.
