Dennis R. Swartley, 75, Bedminster Township, went home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.  He was the husband of Darlene (Histand) Swartley, with whom he shared 55 years and 9 months of marriage.

Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Emerson and Esther Swartley.  He was a graduate of Christopher Dock Mennonite High School, class of 1965.

Dennis had worked at Glenn Garis Construction for 13 years, Hatfield Quality Meats (Clemens Food Group) 29 years and drove school bus for Pennridge School District for 10 years after he retired.

He was a member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, where he was active with the Boy's Club and had served as head usher and trustee.

Dennis was also an active member of Dublin Fire Company for 50 years, where he was Deputy Chief for 39 years.  He was Lieutenant for Dublin Ambulance Corps for 4 years and was a member of Hatfield Fire Company for 10 years.

Family was very important to Dennis.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and traveling with his wife to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, Canada, Canyonlands and National Parks.  Also many family trips to Disney World, Spruce Lake, Myrtle Beach, and Jersey Shore.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, D. Brian Swartley (Nichole), Michael Swartley and Tim Swartley, eight grandchildren, Morgan Babin (Colin), Madeline Swartley (Fiancé Jordan Guillory), Mckenzie Swartley, Jacob Swartley, Taylor Swartley (Fiancé Robert Mann), Austin Swartley, Brooke Swartley, and Paige Swartley, two brothers, Donald Swartley (the late Sue) and Ronald "Chuck" Tasker (Jenell) and a sister Darla Rice (Henry).

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 23, from 6-8 PM at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, 18969.  A funeral service will be at 11 AM on Saturday, February 25, at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Rd, Blooming Glen, 18911, where interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
