Dean A. LaBar, 75, a resident of Harleysville, PA, since 1993, passed away unexpectedly at home early Sunday morning, July 19, 2026. He and his wife, Helen M. (Rowan) LaBar, would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on August 12th of this year.
Born August 22, 1950, in Ithaca, NY, he was a son of the late Albert L. and Betty Jeanne (Perce) LaBar. He was a graduate of Lansing High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Cornell University.
Mr. LaBar worked selling windows and doors, and retired as a sales manager from Marvic Supply in North Wales, PA in 2017.
Dean was an active member of the Goschenhoppen Historians and volunteered at the annual Goschenhoppen Folk Festival where he was a wheelwright. He was a devoted family man and traveled near and far to spend quality time with his family and friends. He shared his enjoyment of woodworking, snow skiing, target shooting, playing cards, and golfing with the relatives, chosen family, and good friends that he made over the years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Christine Simard and her husband, Phil, of Herndon, VA, Daniel LaBar and his wife, Rachel Adair, of Weston MO, and Liz Bittner and her husband, George, of Camden, DE; and seven grandchildren, Bradley, Colin, Ellie, Nick, Dean, Jameson and Savannah. He is also survived by two siblings, Keith LaBar of Trumansburg, NY, and Donna Perry and her husband, Richard, of Louisville, KY; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.
The family will receive friends for his viewing from 12:30-1:45pm on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA, where the public prayer service will begin at 2 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation at
