Dan Stanley Watters, age 80, of Harleysville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Sharon A. (Torquati) Watters, with whom he shared over 59 years of marriage.
Born November 26, 1944, in Easton, he was the son of the late Stanley and Charlotte (Jones) Watters.
Dan had an astonishing work history with only a high school diploma and a couple of years of college. Dan started as a lab technician for Dixie Cup in Wilson, Pennsylvania, and later worked as a lab technician for Bethlehem Steel. He then took a position at Mack Printing, where he found his calling for working with computers. Over the years, Dan survived mergers and acquisitions, worked for Matsco(GE), GE Aerospace, Martin Marietta, Lockheed Martin, and Lockheed until his retirement. During his time there, he made many longtime friends. Dan cherished his friendships and, even after retirement, would meet up weekly for breakfast.
Aside from his professional life, Dan was always known for being sharp as a tack and for his attention to detail. Dan and Sharon had three houses built through the years, and Dan always reviewed and improved the plans the builders and architects developed.
Dan loved long drives with Sharon in their convertible, exploring the countryside and finding places to get some of their favorite foods. When discussing their travels, the highlights were the food and incredible places they found to eat along the way. Dan was also incredibly mechanically inclined. He did it all! Whenever we needed something figured out, we always went to Dad.
Dan was preceded in death by his brother Charlie Watters and is survived by his brother Eldon Watters, sons Daniel Watters and his wife Laraine, Ross Watters and his wife Lori, grandchildren Emma, Sebastian, Amber, Owen, and Rachel Watters.
Services for Dan will be Private.
