Charles Palko, Sr., 85, a resident of Souderton, PA, since 1976, passed away at home on Monday evening, May 12, 2025, with family by his side. He and his wife, Nancy C. (Stankiewicz) Palko, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 22nd of this year.
Born August 8, 1939, in Ashland, PA, he was a son of the late John Palko, Sr. and Anna (Nodich) Palko. He grew up in Centralia, PA, and graduated from Mount Carmel Catholic High School. He also attended Montgomery County Community College, University of Maryland, and Ursinus College. He was honorably discharged from the U. S. Air Force after five years of service.
Mr. Palko was employed for 30 years with American Olean Tile of Lansdale, PA, where he worked as a system programmer analyst. He later worked for Eastern Industries of Center Valley, PA, for another 15 years.
Mr. Palko was proud of his Ukrainian heritage and was a faithful member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Souderton American Legion Post #234, and a member and past president of the Franconia Lions Club. He was a collector of coins, stamps, records, and Elvis Presley memorabilia. Along with his wife, he enjoyed traveling and taking bus trips.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles "Chuck" Palko, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Hilltown, PA; and three grandchildren, Caitlin Palko and her fiancé Jacob Doña, Jonathan Palko and Anna Palko. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, several sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Palko, Jr. and his wife, Mary.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life at 10 am on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, PA, where family will receive friends from 9-9:45 am. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Catholic Cemetery in Chalfont, PA. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his memory to Leader Dogs for the Blind at www.leaderdog.org, or Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960. Arrangements are by Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc. of Franconia, PA.
