Obituary

C. Merilyn Forst, 89, of Hatfield, died on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.  She was the wife of the late William E. Forst.

Born in North Wales, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Carolyn Kulp.  She was a graduate of North Wales High School.

Merilyn was committed to her crossing guard duties with the Hatfield Police Department for at least 35 years. In various locations for Hatfield Elementary and later Pennfield, she proudly provided a safe path to cross the street for children walking to and from school twice a day. Merilyn enjoyed the children, and many would return to say hello.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Hatfield and Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Merilyn was devoted to her family and enjoyed making holidays and birthdays special for them.  She also loved her pets Buttons, Rex, Gretyl, Midnight and Benny

She is survived by her three daughters: Fay Forst-Younger (Tom), Kay Imes, and Wendy Forst-Ferrell (Ralph), six grandchildren; Joshua (Jennifer), Kara (Alex), Tom (Megan), Laura, Kali, and Jadie, five great grandchildren; Liam, Braden, Leighton, Layla, and Scott, and one nephew; Charles.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Kulp and Charles Kulp, II.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, January 4, at Grace Lutheran Church, 40 N. Main Street, Hatfield, 19430, where the family will receive friends from 10-10:45 AM.  Interment will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church at the above address or William J. Chapman Memorial Scholarship 1250 Bethlehem Pike Unit 386 Hatfield, 19430.
