Brian Joel Burkett, 43, of Hatfield, passed away on Wednesday February 25, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Sarah (Williams) Burkett for 21 years.
Brian was born in Sellersville to proud parents, David and Darlene Burkett. Ever the mischievous youngest sibling of three, he always enjoyed making people laugh. His siblings remember a little brother who loved to play pranks, video games, and sports with his older brother. Brian attended Phil-Mont Christian Academy from preK-12th grade. It was there he met his future wife and started dating her when they were just 16.
After high school, Brian attended Lincoln Tech and earned his degree in Electronic Engineering. He enjoyed working at Clemens Food Group for nearly 18 years, working his way up to various roles in the company and making many friends along the way.
In 2004, Brian married his high school sweetheart, Sarah, and moved to Hatfield where they put down roots. They spent ten years enjoying just being together; camping, taking trips, and spending time with both sides of their family. Brian's thirst to live life well made him the fun uncle that his several nieces and nephews loved to be around. Whether spontaneously "stealing" them for some fun adventure or encouraging them in interests such as learning guitar, he was generous with his time and love.
In 2014, Brian took on the much-anticipated role of Dad to his daughter Sophia. And in 2017, he had the joy of welcoming his son, Henry. Brian always lived life "all-in", but in his title of dad and husband, he did so even more. He delighted in being with his family and creating lasting memories with them.
In addition to his wife, children, and parents, Brian is survived by his brother, Jon Burkett (Sara), and his sister, Bethany VanVeldhuizen (Phil). He is also survived by his wife's parents, Gordon and Susan Williams, brother in-in-law, Christopher Williams, and sister-in-law Jenna Gyger (Mitch) along with many extended family members and dear friends.
There are no words to capture all that Brian was to those who knew and loved him. His joy in life was infectious. In the end, cancer did not win the battle with Brian. Brian won the battle and now stands with Jesus, healed – undoubtedly laughing in awe with His Savior.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 7th, at Calvary Church, 820 Route 113, Souderton, PA 18964. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11am at the church. For those unable to attend the service, it can be viewing via livestream by clicking HERE
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Steps to Cure Sarcoma in Brian's memory.
