James William "Bill" Alderfer, 78, a long-time resident of Souderton, PA, passed away Thursday morning, December 26, 2024, surrounded by his family at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA. He and his wife, Barbara J. (Kriebel) Alderfer, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on June 29th of this year.

Born September 30, 1946, in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Lester and Naomi (Gerhart) Alderfer. He was a member of the class of 1964 at Souderton High School.

Bill was employed as a truck driver for many years. He had been employed with UPS, Haines & Kibblehouse, Indian Valley Bulk Carriers and Shelly's Building Supply.

When his sons were young, he coached youth football with the Souderton Braves and baseball with Souderton Little League. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, classic cars, and listening to his favorite band, Queen. He was an avid Phillies fan. Throughout the years you could find Bill poolside at swim meets, on the side lines of soccer fields or in the stands at baseball games routing on his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Scott Alderfer of Telford, PA, Brad Alderfer and his significant other, Marisa Cavalieri, of Telford, PA, Kevin Alderfer and his wife, Amy, of Collegeville, PA, and Keith Alderfer and his significant other, Heidi Cory, of Telford, PA. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Christopher, Alison and Zachary; and three great grandchildren, Rayne, Alayah and Callie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 am on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA, where family will receive friends from 10-10:45 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or to the charity of the donor's choice.
