Austin Dane Kimata, age 40, of Perkasie, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023.

Born March 22, 1983, in Fort Ord, California, he was the son of Norman Wesley and Mickey Ann (Cowley) Kimata.

Born into a military family, Austin lived his childhood in California, Alabama, Virginia, Maryland, New York, Texas and Germany before finally settling in Pennsylvania. He attended Pennridge High School and then earned his bachelor's degree in film from Temple University in 2006 graduating Cum Laude. Upon graduation, his Feature Film was presented at the Diamond Screen Film Festival at Temple.

As early as he could work a camera, one was in his hands, and his creative mind continually sought to bring his ideas to the screen. As a small child, his first character toy was He-Man, which started his lifelong passion for action figures, Marvel, cartoons, comics, anime', graphic novels and toy fabrication. His creativeness spread to music, and he would perform solo acts at coffee shops within the community. Before he could walk, he became inseparable from the family pets, and his love of animals was unsurpassed. He had a soft spot and a tenderness for all creatures. He played hockey as a youngster, but baseball was his sport of choice, and the lovable 1993 misfit Phillies made him a lifelong impassioned Phan of his hometown team.

In addition to his parents, Austin is survived by his sister, Tink Fazekas and her husband, Josh; grandfather, Norm Kimata; and nephews, Jack, Dean and Redd. He is also survived by extended family here and in West Virginia.

A celebration of life will take place from 1:00 – 3:30 PM on April 26, 2023, at the Broad Street Theater, 24 West Broad Street, Souderton, PA 18964.
