Arlin H. Freed, 76, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Peter Becker Community in Harleysville, PA, where he resided since December of 2024. He and his wife, Nancy A. (Moyer) Freed, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on June 4th of last year. They formerly lived in Red Hill, PA, and Souderton, PA.
Born December 10, 1948, in Sellersville, PA, he was a son of the late Russell and Dorothy (Hagey) Freed.
Mr. Freed was employed as a heavy equipment operator for most of his career with several companies including R & M Contractors, Mast Excavating, and Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc. He retired in 2012.
Arlin was a member of Indian Creek Church of the Brethren in Harleysville, PA, for over 50 years, where he faithfully served as an usher. A hunter, he enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of Stoney Creek Hunting Club. He also enjoyed landscaping, remodeling, and working on projects around his home. He treasured time with his family and vacations in Ocean City, MD.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Hendricks and her husband, Gary, of Pennsburg, PA, Michelle Clemmer and her husband, Lon, of Harleysville, PA, and Jody Breneman and her husband, Doug, of Souderton, PA; eight grandchildren, Elijah Hendricks and his wife Rachael, Jordan Hendricks and his wife Jenna, Lance Clemmer and his wife, Sarah, Carson Hendricks and his fiancée Kelsey, Levi Clemmer and his wife Jen, Trey Clemmer and his wife Lexi, Trent Breneman and Kylie Breneman; and eight great grandchildren, Isaac and Silas Hendricks, Bailey, Reagan, Logan, Beau, Avery and Wesley Clemmer, and two more on the way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six siblings, Harold, Mary Ann, James, Jane, Richard and Donald Freed; and his parents-in-law, Henry and Elsie (Yothers) Moyer.
Family will receive friends from 10-11:45 AM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Faith Bible Fellowship Church, 140 Harleysville Pike, Harleysville, PA, where the public funeral service will begin at 12 PM. Burial will be private at Indian Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Harleysville, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Morning Star Ministries of the North Penn Area, Inc., P. O. Box 1383, Lansdale, PA 19446. Funeral arrangements are by the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc of Skippack, PA.
