Dr. Arlene G. Stillwater, age 84, of Souderton, passed away on Saturday 6, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard S. Feldstein with whom she shared over 26 years of marriage.
Born October 17, 1940, in Sellersville, she was the daughter of the late Jacob George and Ella Bebon Goehring.
Arlene was born at Grand View Hospital, where she would later work as a Registered Nurse for a substantial portion of her working life. She led the I.V. Team for many years. She had a longtime interest in psychology; and pursued this passion by attending St. Josephs College, Bloomsburg University and Widener University. Her career in psychology started by working Crisis Intervention for Grand View Hospital. After getting her Doctorate in Psychology she worked in Philadelphia and Doylestown. She served clients at her home office throughout this time, but after Covid 19 she worked strictly from home and with Facetime clients. She used many unconventional and new therapy approaches including EMDR and Hypnosis. She was very purpose and service driven. She worked with clients up until she was 83 years old and even in her last year kept in close contact with many of her former clients, now dear friends.
In her personal life she was very much interested in Spiritual and Holistic endeavors. She was a long-time member of the A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment), which focused on the Edgar Cayce teachings for health and healing. During the summer when both of her children were still living at home, she would travel with her family, always making a point to provide educational experiences by visiting battlefields and other historic sites along the way to vacation or her youngest daughter's summer camp. One of the fondest memories of her children is their annual trips to Ocean City Maryland where on one visit they saw the wild horses at Chincoteague Island. She was able to continue this tradition with a travel companion up until recently. Another memorable experience was going to the Cayman Islands (1978) before it was a popular tourist destination. At the time it was pristine, and wildlife was in abundance everywhere. She was blessed to be able to go back there in
2022 to spread her husband's ashes and spend time with her daughters. She was able to see Paris due to the kindness of a friend and had a weekend adventure in London with her oldest daughter. She was even able to get to Alaska and most recently Hawaii.
Arlene is survived by her daughters Heidi Feldstein and Jennifer Rech. She is also survived by her cousin Edward Goehring and his wife Mary.
A memorial service for Arlene will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 18, 2025, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, where the family will greet guests from 10:00 – 10:45 AM. Interment will be private.
