Arlene Lenich, age 84, of Telford, passe thru death into eternal life on Monday, May 8, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Bruce Lenich, with whom she shared over 57 years of marriage.
Born May 23, 1938, in Fort Wayne Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Ruhl and Lois (Coverdale) Buskirk.
Arlen earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana Central College and taught several years in the Indianapolis School District after which she earned her master's in religious education from United Theological Seminary where she met Bruce Lenich. After Seminary, she accepted a position at Trinity Methodist Church in York, as their director of Christian Education. She and Bruce were married in 1965 and Arlene joined Bruce serving Hemfield United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Calvary United Methodist Church in Easton, and St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Valley Forge. During Bruce's ministry at Heritage Towers in Doylestown, Arlene and he lived in Chalfont. While there Arlene was a teaching assistant at Meadowbrook School and developed a Rotation Sunday School program at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Warrington.
In 2009 Arlene and Bruce moved to a cottage in the Lutheran Community at Telford and became actively involved in the community life, sustaining a regular regime in the fitness center while participating in many of the opportunities for continuing education and personal enrichment offered by the community. She was a member of Rolling Hills United Methodist Church in Pipersville and participated in Adult SCS and the U. M. Women's group. Her deep love for Bruce supported his ministry, her love for her family gave them a rich heritage of both faith and personal growth, and her faithfulness to Jesus Christ were the unmistakable hallmarks of a well lived life.
In addition to her husband Bruce, she is survived by her children Brian and partner Amy Lewis, Janice Lenich Storms; grandson Jonathan Storms; sisters Claris Eversole and Amy Zent and her husband Stan. She was preceded in death by her brothers Roy and Marvin Buskirk.
A memorial service for Arlene will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Lutheran Community at Telford Chapel, 12 Lutheran Home Drive, Telford, PA 18969, where the family will greet guests from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. Please use the main entrance of the Healthcare Pavilion for sign-in and directions to the Chapel.
