Arlene Alderfer, age 79, of Souderton, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

Born November 9, 1942, in Souderton, she was a daughter of the late Wilmer M and Verna (Young) Alderfer.

Arlene graduated from Christopher Dock Mennonite High School class of 1960. Her first job was at Feldi Furniture Store, Lansdale, and she remained there for many years. Subsequent employment was in the field of real estate title work. Arlene was a long-time member of Franconia Mennonite Church. Arlene enjoyed travel in the U.S., including to see siblings who lived out of state. Family was an important part of Arlene's life, always supportive and caring. She entertained several generations of children at family reunions over decades with her box of games (which still exists!). Arlene was a loyal friend to many and was by nature a hard worker.

She is survived by her siblings, Ferrill Alderfer, Lorraine Alderfer, Wilmer Alderfer and his wife Lois, and Linda Welty and her husband Merritt. She was preceded in death by her brother Murray Alderfer and her sister Shirley Alderfer. She is also survived by two nieces, eight nephews and extended family.

A memorial service for Arlene will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Franconia Mennonite Church, 613 Harleysville Pike, Telford. Arlene's family will greet guests after services. Interment will be private.
