Obituary

Anthony "Buck" D. Giannini, 93, a long-time resident of Harleysville, PA, passed away Sunday morning, August 31, 2025, at Doylestown Hospital. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Joy M. (Johnston) Giannini, who passed away March 28, 2009. They were married for almost 50 years.

Born July 26, 1932, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Guiseppi) Giannini.

Buck grew up in Philadelphia, living on Moore Street until the age of 9. In the following years, he lived on 28th and Somerset, finally settling in Harleysville in 1971.  As a youth, he was a member of King of Peace Parish and attended Daniel Boone High School in Philadelphia. Buck enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycles and the occasional hunting and fishing trips.

A strong-willed and hardworking man, Buck began his long career with the Reading Railroad at the age of 16. He was a mechanic and inspector with the railroad during its transition into Conrail and ultimately, SEPTA. He provided for his family with side jobs like construction and driving cabs and tow trucks. He volunteered with the Harleysville Fire Company driving ambulances for many years.

Buck is survived by two sons, Anthony W. "Luke" Giannini and his wife, Barbara A., of Harleysville, PA, Christopher P. Giannini and his wife, Barbara A., of Telford, PA; and a daughter, Deborah M. Trout and her husband, Scott R., of Telford, PA. Additionally, he is survived by ten grandchildren: Dayne, Brittany, David, Lucas, Anthony, Christopher, Brooke, Michael, Alyson, and Daniel; and six great grandchildren, Waylon, Weston, Sienna, Grayson, Audrina, and Ace.

Furthermore, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas A. Giannini; and three sisters, Mary Giannini, Rita DeAnn, and Alice Schillinger.

Relatives and friends are invited on September 10th, to attend the public viewing and funeral Mass at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, located at 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, PA 19440, 10 AM and 11 AM, respectively. The burial will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery at 3797 County Line Road Chalfont, PA 18914.  Contributions may be made in memory to the donor's favorite Catholic Charity. Arrangements are by Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc. of Franconia Twp., PA.
