Andrew John "Andy" Case passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, June 13, 2023. He was 83 years old. For more than half a century, he lived in Harleysville, Pennsylvania where he and his wife, Beverly, built a caring, supportive home full of warmth, humor, and sincerity. In his final days, Andrew was constantly surrounded by the love and gratitude of his extended family.

Andy was born to John and Ann Case of Kearny, NJ on April 14, 1940. After graduating from high school in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, he obtained an undergraduate degree from Penn State and a sixth-year graduate degree from Fairfield University in the field of secondary education. He spent a short time teaching in Norwalk, Connecticut before moving to Pennsylvania and beginning his career in academic administration.

After two years as the Assistant Principal for Perkiomen Valley Junior High, he became the first principal of Arcola Intermediate in the Methacton School District. Over the next 25 years, he created, managed, and evolved a successful culture of teaching that culminated in national recognition for Arcola as a "Blue Ribbon School of Excellence" (1990). Andy retired from full-time work in 1995 and spent the next 16 years as a visiting professor for several universities in the Philadelphia area. His specialty was mentoring student teachers.

The non-professional side of Andy's retirement was defined in large part by fishing and crabbing and all the shore travel and family camaraderie that came bundled with these favorite activities. It also included birdwatching, gardening, and taking care of landscaping for the family's "mountain house" in the Poconos. Andy was an active member of The Church of the Messiah in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania. Here, he volunteered his time as a reader, a chalice bearer, a cashier at Belfry Bargains, and a member of the vestry.

Andy is predeceased by his two older sisters, Joan and Barbara. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Read Case as well as his three sons and their respective families: Gregory, Sally, and Sarah; Brian, Nancy, and Kaiya; and Christopher, Megan, Ethan, and Eliott.

Family members will hold a private burial service for Andrew John Case on Monday, June 26 at 11:00 a.m. Friends are invited to join the family on June 26, at 891 Spruce Lane, Harleysville, PA, any time between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., for fellowship and remembrance of Andy's life
