Obituary

Andrea (Archibald) McGill, 86, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026. Born on May 9, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of Andrew and Mary Duffner Archibald. Andrea lived a full and vibrant life rooted in family, faith, music, and community. Formerly of King of Prussia, PA, Avalon, NJ, and Cape May Court House, NJ, she most recently resided in Harleysville, PA.

Andrea was the beloved wife of James McGill with whom she shared a loving marriage since November of 1960. She was a devoted mother to Patti  (Don) Richardson, Jamie (Clark) Caughey, Joseph (Debbie) McGill, DeeAnne (Keith) McCallin, and Jeffrey (Erica) McGill. She was a loving grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. She is also survived by many loving siblings, nieces and nephews.

A graduate of St. Helena's Grade School and Little Flower Catholic High School, Andrea's love of music began early. She was a former music vocalist on Philadelphia Children's Hour radio shows and continued to share her gift throughout her life. She brought joy to many as part of the Magic Lady Radio Supper Club. Andrea had lead roles in high school musicals both at Little Flower and Northeast Catholic high schools. She sang with the SEPTA Junctioneers and was a member of the Maris Stella Choir in Avalon. Andrea was active in the Avalon Garden Club and the Officers' Wives Club at the U.S. Coast Guard Base in Cape May, NJ. After raising her family, Andrea dedicated many years of her professional life as a Management Information Systems (MIS) Manager for SEPTA, where she was respected for her dedication and leadership.

Andrea will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to family and God, and deep connections within her communities. She leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and cherished memories that will live on in all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Andrea's life at services at St. Maria Goretti Parish,1601 Derstine Rd., Hatfield PA with a viewing on Tuesday, April 28 from 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM with a funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Burial will be at a later date at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, 1000 W Lycoming Street, Philadelphia in her name would be appreciated.
