Amanda Marie States, age 53, of Perkasie, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Marc States, with whom she shared over 30 years of marriage.

Born September 22, 1970, in Punxsutawney PA, she was the eldest daughter of James Robert and Nancy Virginia (Kennedy) Davis.

After graduating from Punxsutawney area high school, she went on to obtain her bachelor of science in psychology with a certificate in teaching at Seton Hill. She had a passion for educating and helping children find their full potential and taught at various locations spanning across Pennsylvania and Virginia. After the birth of her youngest son, she shifted her career and provided support and care for the children of local families. She loved each child as if they were her own and cared deeply for each family she worked with.

In her free time, Amanda's favorite activity was to watch her boys grow as they explored their passions and found their interests. She was an avid cook and baker who always enjoyed searching for new recipes to try and was often seen curled up with her dogs watching her favorite HGTV and Food Network shows. Amanda loved to read and was always striving to better herself and those around her.

She was the epitome of a loving wife, mother, and friend who made a difference in each of the lives of those who knew her. Amanda was the shoulder people turned to and her greatest strength was being a comfort to others. She always knew the perfect thing to say and always had just the right words when you needed them.

Her family was the most important thing in her life and she always went out of her way to make sure they had quality time spent together.

In addition to her parents and husband, Amanda is survived by her children, Garin States and his wife Meg, Denton States and his wife Kaitlyn, and youngest son Cooper States.

She is also survived by siblings Christine Sheeder and her husband Rick, James Davis Jr. and his wife Aileen; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ralph and Nancy States; brother-in- law and sister-in-law Don and Mia Hicks; nieces and nephews Katherine Barnard and her husband Chad, Jacob Sheeder, Seth Hicks and his wife Amanda; great nephews Grant, Levi and Bentley.

A viewing for Amanda will take place on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford and again on Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 10:00 – 10:45 AM, with a service following at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
